Writing to heal
Jocelyn originally taught her course on writing as a therapeutic tool in the MFA writing program at Columbia University. The unprecedented waitlist highlighted the importance of bridging the gap between craft and healing. Her belief is that writing helps us process everything from daily challenges to past trauma, allowing us to release buried wounds, foster self-awareness, and manifest our hopes and dreams. She has since expanded “Writing to Heal” beyond academia, offering it as a workshop to help individuals harness the healing power of the written word within the context of a supportive community.
Health Coaching
When Jocelyn was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis and neurological Lyme disease—both of which failed to respond to medication—she took her health into her own hands. Diagnoses, she discovered, don’t have to be a life sentence. She ultimately achieved wellness through diet and lifestyle changes and has been helping others get their lives back from illness through one-on-one coaching ever since.
